Crossville Municipal Court

The Crossville Municipal Court is the Judicial Branch of the governing body of the Town Of Crossville. The Court is part of the Alabama Unified Judicial System. The Municipal Court handles all traffic citations, municipal ordinance violations, and misdemeanor criminal arrests initiated by the Crossville Police Department.

The Town of Crossville contracts with Republic Services to provide weekly residential garbage service for standard household garbage. Current service day is every Friday. To request service or for more information, contact Republic Services.

  • Carts are to be placed within three feet of the curb or street edge with the lid opening toward the middle of the street and on the opposite side of the driveway from the mailbox.
  • Carts should always be at least three feet from any fixed object such as a mailbox, fire hydrant, cable box, electrical box, phone box, telephone pole or parked cars.
  • Please bag all garbage items before placing in cart to avoid any spillage.
  • Place carts out the night before service day (Thursday night) to avoid a miss due to timing.

Crossville Volunteer Fire Department is an all volunteer municipal department that operates with a Class 6 ISO rating. The department responds to fires, vehicle accidents, severe weather events, gas leaks, hazardous events, Helicopter Landing Zone setups, and other situations as needed.

Fire Chief Danny White, Assistant Fire Chief Steven Smith, Captain Andy Brown, Lieutenant Kevin Duke, Sergeant Eric Rolf and 2 training Officers Sam Anello, and Lucas Thacker, who lead the department with a current roster of 26 members. It has 18 Certified Firefighters, with two receiving their 160 Certification in the past year. The department provides 24-hour coverage for fires and other emergencies in the Town of Crossville and the surrounding areas.

Crossville firefighters carry hand held pagers and radios for receiving emergency call notifications from Dekalb County E911. Some of the members work out of town and respond to calls during their off time. Others work in town and are able to leave work to respond when needed. The members meet twice a month for drills and equipment upkeep, and other days for special training events.

Our Street Department works extremely hard to keep our town looking well kept! Limb pick up is weekly on Wednesday. All limbs/brush must be placed in an area that is not under power lines and large pieces must be 5 feet or smaller. We provide two annual, free pick-up days per year to dispose of unwanted items, one in Spring and one in Fall.
